MoU signing with the Taiwan Geotechnical Society (TGS)
by Wanji Yang

The Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) and the Taiwan Geotechnical Society (TGS) sign a MoU on 17 March 2012. Due to frequent earthquakes and other natural effects, the environmental geologic survey and geo-engineering are particularly important for any construction work in Taiwan. Therefore, the signing of the MoU encourages both parties to jointly make efforts in enhancing the level of geotechnical engineering and the reliability of geo-engineering testing results by means of exchanging technical expertise, joint interpretation of international criteria, and co-hosting training workshops, etc. Both parties also aim to cooperate with regulators and local governments by providing professional viewpoints to ensure the quality of public construction works and to promote the value of accreditation.
