Update from the Secretariat

As all members and delegates would now be aware the IAF and ILAC Annual Meetings scheduled for the 1 to 11 November 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand have unfortunately had to be cancelled. As explained in the official notification distributed a few days ago, this very difficult decision for everyone involved, has been taken as a result of the increasing difficulties being experienced in Bangkok, following the widespread flooding that has been occurring across Thailand over the past few months.

For the immediate future we send our best wishes to our Thai colleagues and their families during this very difficult time.

In 2009, a Memorandum of Understanding was agreed between ILAC and IFCC to inform and support cooperation of the two bodies in the area of medical laboratory accreditation.
