Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) was established by the “National Accreditation Act-2006” with the goals to coordinate the accreditation services. Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) is the only national accreditation body in the country, working autonomously, to provide accreditation services to the conformity assessment bodies (CABs) like testing & calibration laboratories, medical laboratories, certification bodies, inspection bodies and training institutions in accordance with the international and national recognized standards.

The BoA symposium theme for World Accreditation Day 2011 was "Supporting the work of Regulators"

On 9 June 2011 in Prague, a ceremonial gathering took place on the occasion of World Accreditation Day and the 20^th jubilee of the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in the Czech Republic.

The gathering was held by the Czech Accreditation Institute (CAI) and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic under the patronage of two committees of the Senate, in the grand ball room of the Wallenstein Palace.

In Brazil, World Accreditation Day in 2011 was commemorated on June 8^th and 9^th at Hotel Windsor, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. On the first day, the third Enoac (National Meeting of Conformity Assessment Bodies) was held. About 400 people took part including representatives of conformity assessment bodies, assessors external to Cgcre, regulating bodies, government etc. Promoted by Inmetro´s General Coordination for Accreditation (Cgcre), the annual event focus mainly on the exchange of information between the representatives of the accreditation segment.

For the fourth year, the Cyprus Accreditation Body (CYS-CYSAB) celebrated World Accreditation Day; a special event was organised on the 9^th June in Nicosia. On this occasion press releases were prepared and radio interviews were also given.

Dubai Accreditation Department (DAC) celebrated World accreditation day on 9^th June 2011. A ceremony was arranged in Zabeel Hall of DM Club. In line with the theme for this year "supporting the work of regulators" the representatives of regulatory departments were also invited to attend the meeting.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación, a.c. (ema), has celebrated “World Accreditation Day” with a series of conferences and workshops in its traditional “Accreditation Week” from June 6 to 9.

GSO dedicated two web pages to World Accreditation Day 2011, one in English containing the Joint statement of the ILAC and IAF chairs and the promotional video with Arabic subtitles, and a page in Arabic containing the message of the secretary General of GSO on the Occasion of the Accreditation Day for member countries and conformity assessment bodies in the region.

KOLAS concluded a business partnership MoU with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) on 3 June 2011. This MoU is being implemented so that laboratories who will take charge of assessing products for the Korean defense industry can access the internationally recognized accreditation system at an early stage.

KATS (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) who is a parent organization of KOLAS, held the leaders’ meeting and seminar to promulgate the importance, effects, and international trends of the accreditation scheme and to celebrate “World Accreditation Day 2011” between June 8 and 9, 2011.

In line with the vision of all accreditation bodies, the Mauritius Accreditation Service (MAURITAS) is preparing for the status of signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs).

It is my pleasure to inform you that World Accreditation Day was successfully organized and celebrated on 9^th June 2011, at a national level in Mongolia. 

Celebrations of this year’s World Accreditation Day were combined with the celebration of 10 years of activity of the Polish Centre for Accreditation. Thanks to the PCA agreement with Polish Television and Polish Radio concerning the media coverage of the events, a multimillion audience had the opportunity to watch interesting interviews with Dr Eugeniusz W Roguski, PCA Director, and Ms Lucyna Olborska, PCA Deputy Director, as well as journalists’ reports on the specificity of work and 10-year accomplishment of PCA. The goal of the broadcasts was to promote manifold benefits resulting from having an accreditation certificate.

World Accreditation Day has been commemorated by PNAC with the theme “Supporting the work of Regulators” here in Islamabad, Pakistan on 9th June 2011. Honorable Federal Minister for Science & Technology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali was the chief guest on the occasion.
