Mauritas organises seminar on accreditation and international recognition

In line with the vision of all accreditation bodies, the Mauritius Accreditation Service (MAURITAS) is preparing for the status of signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs).

MAURITAS has enlisted the financial assistance of the French Development Agency (AFD) under the Trade Capacity Program – “Programme de Renforcement des Capacités Commerciales (PRCC)” and the technical assistance of the International Affairs Division of the Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR) to achieve this objective.

One of the components of the project was the organization of a half-day seminar on ‘Accreditation and International Recognition’. The seminar was held at La Petite Canelle, Domaine Les Pailles on 21 February 2011.

Several presentations were made by Mr RN Gopee, Acting Director of MAURITAS, Mrs F Nicolas, Director, International Affairs, AFNOR and Mr HCL Vialle, Consultant, AFNOR during the seminar. Forty-two (42) persons participated in the seminar.

 MAURITAS ORGANISES A TRAINING COURSE ON INTERNAL AUDIT, METHODS VALIDATION AND MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY

MAURITAS, under the assistance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) organised a training course on Internal Audit, Methods Validation and Measurement Uncertainty. The training course was held at the Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) conference room on 9 – 13 May 2011.
