New website launched – promoting accredited conformity assessment to the public sector
Standards and accreditation can be a great asset in the toolkit of the public sector to meet policy objectives. To support these claims, a new website publicsectorassurance.org has been launched to illustrate the value of accredited conformity assessment, by referencing many case studies from around the world in key policy areas, showing how different tools help government officials and regulators deliver results.

Promoting accreditation at the WTO Annual Conference

As a key stakeholder of the global accreditation system, the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Annual Public Forum provides the opportunity to promote the role that standards and accreditation can play in facilitating cross-border trade. The event is the WTO’s largest outreach event, which provides a platform for participants to discuss the latest developments in world trade and to propose ways of enhancing the multilateral trading system.

2015 IAF-ILAC Mid-Term Meetings

IAF and ILAC will be holding their 2015 Joint Mid-Term Meetings in Frankfurt, Germany from 09 April – 16 April. Joint meetings are held twice a year and offer a valuable opportunity for communication and collaboration between the two organizations.

New IAF Member: FAMI-QS
On 12 April 2014, FAMI-QS officially became an associated member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). FAMI-QS is the quality and safety system for Specialty Feed Ingredients (feed additives and functional feed ingredients) and their Mixtures. Said Feed Safety Management System operates under ISO 17021 and ISO/TS 22003 accreditation.

IAF has published four new documents and revised three documents since the 2014 IAF-ILAC Joint Annual Meetings in Vancouver, Canada, including one Policy Document, five Mandatory Documents and one Informative Document.
