Updates from the UAC

The IAF User Advisory Committee (UAC) continues to meet via WebEx and face-to-face, with receptions following the face-to-face meetings for fostering enhanced communication and collaboration among members and IAF leaders. Attendance at UAC meetings continue to improve with representatives from the following industry and user organizations typically participating:  the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. (BDI)/Siemens AG, the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications Forum (QuEST Forum) represented by Cisco Systems, Global Procurement Italy (GP Italy), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), GLOBALG.A.P., and the The Quality System for Feed Additives and Premixtures asbl (FAMI-QS).  The IAF Chair, Vice-Chair and MLA Chair also typically attend UAC meetings.

11th UAC Meeting Participants

At the 2016 Joint IAF-ILAC Mid-Term meetings in Frankfurt, Germany, the UAC continued work on implementing the IAF Strategic Plan, assuring that the voice of industry and end-users was clearly and effectively reflected.

After the meeting, at a reception sponsored by FAMI-QS, UAC members and IAF leaders brainstormed responses to two questions:

1.     How can the UAC better provide feedback to the IAF regarding accreditation activities?

2.     How can the UAC engage its current members AND more sectors/industry to participate?

The next UAC meeting will occur via WebEx, with a face-to-face meeting at the 2016 Joint IAF-ILAC Annual meetings in New Delhi, India. Another UAC reception will be held following the meeting, where members will review responses to the questions provided above and will discuss next steps.
