The status of the Accreditation body of Serbia (ATS) as an EA Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) signatory in the fields of Calibration, Testing (including Medical Examinations according to EN ISO 15189), Inspection, Products Certification, Management Systems Certification and Certification of Persons was reconfirmed at the 39th meeting of The EA Multilateral Agreement Council held in Belgrade, Serbia from 25th-26th April 2018.
The decision on maintenance of EA MLA status followed the peer evaluation carried out by an EA peer evaluation team 25th-29th September 2017 and 02nd-06th October 2017 (for Certification of Persons). The next peer evaluation of ATS is expected in June 2021.
In addition to maintaining EA MLA signatory status, 2018 is an important year for ATS as it marks its 20th anniversary of operation. The first decision on accreditation was made on 28th June 2000. This date, 28th June, is now celebrated as the national Serbian Accreditation Day.
In the year of ATS’s 20th anniversary, new objectives have been set. ATS plans for the future include: maintenance of EA MLA status, modernization of tis quality management system, compliance with the requirements of the new version of ISO/IEC 17011, more extensive cooperation with regulators as regards development of accreditation schemes, as well as extension of its MLA scope to PTP Providers and GHG validation and verification.
