Since the last IAF General Assembly held in Milan, Italy in November 2015, much progress has been achieved for the implementation of IAF Strategic Plan (2015-2019). In particular, many important outcomes came out of the Frankfurt, Germany Mid-Term Meetings held in April 2016.

2016 IAF-ILAC Joint Annual Meetings

IAF and ILAC will be holding their 2016 Joint Annual meetings in New Delhi, India from 26 October – 04 November. Joint meetings are held twice a year and offer a valuable opportunity for communication and collaboration between the two organizations.

Recent IAF Publications

IAF has published four new documents and five revised documents since the last edition of the IAF Newsletter, including two Policy Documents, two Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) Documents, two Mandatory Documents, two Documents for General Information, and one Joint IEC-ILAC-IAF document. One document has also been withdrawn during this time. IAF documents are available free of charge in the Publications area of the IAF website (iaf.nu).

The Ministers of Trade and Industry of the various economies in Africa have agreed to celebrate the year 2017 as the African Year of Quality Infrastructure. The aim is to create and improve awareness of the Quality Infrastructure within Africa.

ARAC News
Over the past several years ARAC has cooperated with other Regional Accredition Groups to ensure that the highest accreditation levels possible can be achieved within the region. Work has included joint meetings and events to share information and to promote the value of accreditation as well as regional workshops and training sessions for peer evaluators.

Silver Jubilee of Accreditation in the Czech Republic

In 2016, the Czech Accreditation Institute (CAI) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of accreditation in the Czech Republic. It is an opportunity to take a breath, look back and reflect on the impact that accreditation has had over the years on both national and international businesses, industries and markets. It is also an opportunity to remind ourselves why we do what we do and stand proud of the work we had done. And of course, extensive celebrations are in order!
